Founder and Director of R.I.Sk Seminars, Inc., a not-for-profit educational organization committed to teaching young people and adults 20 Relationship Improvement SKills that can be used to benefit any school, work, family, or social relationship or group (1992-present).

Teacher of…

  • 1-, 2-, and 3-credit communication, teambuilding, and leadership skills courses and half/full-day inservices for hundreds of teachers in eastern Pennsylvania (1993-present).

  • 12- to 20-hour in-/after-school and summer courses for elementary, middle, and high school students under grants from ALERT--Partnership for a Drug-Free Valley and the Allentown School District (1993-present).

  • staff development programs for the City Chamber of Commerce, City Recreation Department, Lucent Technologies, New Jersey School-Based Youth Program, Pennsylvania Power & Light, Rodale Press, Inc., etc. (1993-present).

  •  leadership programs for middle and high school student leaders at schools and at conferences such as the School Works! Leadership Conference and Promise of the Rainbow at Moravian College (1993-present).

  • social restoration programs for Lehigh County juvenile offenders in a Parkland High School after-school initiative and in a Kids’ Peace residential drug/alcohol rehabilitation facility serving dual diagnosis teens (1999-2001).

  • communication and teambuilding skills to community justice panelists in pilot IMPACT program (1999).

ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND COUNSELING EXPERIENCE:

  • Completed four courses to date toward certification in Drug & Alcohol Counseling from Cedar Crest College.

  •  Taught sixth grade in Emmaus, Pa; Alexandria, VA; Cheltenham, PA.

  •  Supervised student teachers in the Philadelphia School System.

  • Owned the Formative Years Preschool on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia.

  • Consulted for the Psychological Service Center of  Philadelphia.

  • Conducted 40 Interaction Analysis workshops nationwide with teachers and administrators.

  • Trained student teachers at Temple University.

  • Facilitated sensitivity groups for Lankenau Hospital nursing staff.

  • Co-trained graduate "T-groups" at Temple University.

  • Conducted sensitivity training for juvenile aid officers and district attorneys in Philadelphia.

  • Taught coping skills to the single and newly-divorced.
