Program Outcomes

     Pre- and post-course surveys confirm that RELATIONSHIP IMPROVEMENT SKILLS training does make a difference. Although members of a Control Group showed no significant changes over time in responding to questions measuring ACCEPTANCE of self and others, among R.I.Sk takers there were statistically positive and significant changes in responses to 21 of the 23 questions measuring attitudes and behaviors related to communication, teambuilding, and leadership skills.

     After R.I.Sk training, participants have demonstrated…

  • feelings of "fitting in" (=belonging).
  • willingness to listen to others without interrupting them.
  • ability to listen well enough to repeat what others have just said
  • ability to tell others how their behaviors affect them (=give feedback).
  • willingness to hear how their behavior affects others (=receive feedback).

  • feelings of trust toward others.
  • feelings of being trusted by others.
  • ability to hear people express different opinions without taking sides.
